On Friday 29th November, Chestnuts were invited to attend the inaugural KS1 Gymnastics Festival, at Torbay Gymnastics Club, as part of The Link Academy’s drive to raise sports participation and for all of the schools within the academy to learn, work and share experiences together.

Bearnes were joined by Hennock, Diptford, Harbertonford and Landscove who have all worked tirelessly over the last 6 weeks in their Gymnastics lesson to create their own group routines that they performed for each other to their own pieces of music.

The children were also provided with the opportunity to work on some of the gymnastic equipment that they would have seen at the Olympics including the vault and the balance beams.

It was a lovely event and the children represented Bearnes incredibly well showing great sportsmanship towards children from other schools as well as cheering and encouraging each other. They worked so well together and their quality of their routines was fantastic.

They have all shown tremendous progress from the beginning of the half term, they should all be incredibly proud of themselves!
